ESL students are recommended to stay with a host family during their first semester of studies to introduce them to Canadian family customs and cultures.
We have a number of families who enjoy opening their homes to international students. Each host family provides their homestay student with a bed, desk, lamp and dresser, as well as towels and bedding. The host family is also responsible for providing the student with three meals a day. The student is required to pay the following to Northern Lights College for their homestay.
|Homestay Finding Fee
|Homestay Security Deposit
|Homestay Monthly Rent
After the first month, the student is then required to pay their host family the rent on the first day of every month. If students arrive before the first of the month, rent is prorated at $24 per day.
