Northern Lights College campuses have relaxed atmospheres, where students may gather to study or visit, in common areas such as the cafeteria, Student Residence common rooms, Aboriginal Gathering Space, or lounge areas.

Some campuses have outdoor patio areas that can be accessed during the seasonal weather. The Dawson Creek Campus has general foyer areas in the Campus Centre and Energy House buildings. The Fort St. John Campus offers the Atrium and its relaxing atmosphere surrounded by tropical fish and flora.

Campus Student Councils are staffed by local students, and plan a variety of recreation activities both on and off campus for students and their families.

Depending on the campus, students may be involved in community events such as Relay for Life or other fundraising activities, hosting luncheons or dances. Recreational opportunities are also available in community sports leagues, and in some intramural sports, including volleyball, basketball, soccer, and floor hockey (where facilities permit).

Car-Pooling - New for Students in 2012-13

In 2012-13, students at Northern Lights College have the opportunity to carpool when traveling to and from the Dawson Creek Campus.

A signup/information bulletin board is available in the Centre of Excellence for Clean Energy Technology (Energy House) at the Dawson Creek Campus, where students are able to sign up and share contact information, including scheduling and destinations.

Students can also make arrangements by utilizing the College's Facebook page.

For students who are driving as part of a Car-Pool arrangement, a designated parking spot has been set aside adjacent to Energy House, in the reserved/special event parking area near the Regional Administration building. The number of Car-Pool spots may be increased should there prove to be sufficient demand.

NOTE: Northern Lights College is not responsible for any details pertaining to Car-Pool arrangements.
