ESTH 140 - Unit Four: Esthetics and Nail Care Treatments

Students will continue clinical performance of esthetic and nail care treatments. Reflexology (foot), hair removal, and tinting techniques will be introduced as well as the theory of makeup artistry.

Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, learners will be able to:
- Identify spa operations and perform services on real clientele
- Describe the importance of teamwork, facility care, and professionalism, and demonstrate these skills
- Demonstrate applied knowledge in creating and booking appointments, and filing
- Assess best interests of clients including comfort, consultation and confidentiality
- Demonstrate time management skills
- Apply skills in marketing and retailing procedures
- Illustrate technical proficiency in manicure, pedicure, artificial nails, waxing, tinting, and reflexology of the foot
- Demonstrate an understanding of cosmetic colour theory
- Identify different facial types and identify procedures for basic corrective makeup
- Identify contraindications for hair removal, tinting, and nail care treatment procedures
- Learners must demonstrate competencies in their skills to Industry Standards.


Grading System:  Percentage


Passing Grade:  70%
