This course deals with the complete fiscal cycle and an introduction to payroll. Mastery of this course enables the student to prepare the complete bookkeeping cycle, including synoptic journals and financial statements.

Course Content:

Topics will include:
  • Transactions using specialized journals and subsidiary ledgers
  • Accounting cycle for a merchandising company
  • Interest
  • Uncollectible accounts receivable
  • Fixed assets
  • Inventory
  • Payroll
  • Cash control including bank reconciliations
Learning Outcomes:

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  • Record transactions using specialized journals
  • Use subsidiary ledgers to record transactions
  • Complete an accounting cycle for a merchandising company
  • Compute and record interest
  • Identify uncollectible accounts receivables
  • Identify and record fixed assets and inventory
  • Complete payroll transaction records
  • Complete bank reconciliations
