ABCT 165 – Business English

This course provides students with comprehensive instruction in the correct use of English grammar, punctuation, spelling, and effective business English. Students develop good reading and proofreading skills, expand their vocabulary, use a dictionary and other reference materials, and apply the principles of grammar.

- Sentence and paragraph structure (elements, patterns, types)
- Capitalization
- Numbers
- Abbreviations

 

Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Identify parts of speech
- Punctuate sentences and paragraphs
- Demonstrate proper spelling
- Proofread documents
- Access reference material
- Capitalize letters appropriately
- Utilize standard abbreviations

 

Grading System: Percentage

 

Passing Grade:  70%
