AMEP 103 - Aluminum Forming, Assembly and Repair
This module covers the forming of metal, assembly of parts and repair of structural damage.

Hours: 79.5 (Shop/Teaching Kitchen: 79.5)
Total Weeks:  15

Prerequisite: Admission into the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Program.
Course Content:

P3-1: Former Project

  • Interpret drawing and layout project
  • Bend material
  • Drill holes
  • Repair damage - apply repair scheme
  • Install rivets
  • Apply marking criteria
P3-2: Pressurized Patch Project
  • Repair damage - apply repair scheme
  • Prep aluminum
  • Install rivets and sealant
  • Apply marking criteria
P3-4: Aileron
  • Interpret drawings and layout project
  • Bend material
  • Install rivets
  • Install inspection hole and cover
  • Apply marking criteria
Learning Outcomes:
  • The student will build and assemble aluminum components using blueprints or repair specifying tolerances and criteria.
Grading System:  Percentage

Passing Grade:  70%

Additional Comments:
  • P3-1=30%

  • P3-4=47%
