AMEP 117 - Airframe Auxiliary Systems
This module covers maintenance of the compass, gas heater, wing deicing system, and pitot-static systems.

Admission to the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Program.

Course Content:
P17-1 Compass Swing
- Test accuracy of compass against a master compass and prepare correction card
P17-2 Gas Heater
- Disassemble heater module and inspect to manufacturer’s specification
- Reassemble and function test module P17-3 De-icing
- Function test de-icing system
- Repair damage in de-icing boot
P17-4 Pitot Static
- Test aircraft installation using Barfield test instrument
P17-5 Muff heater
- Inspect an exhaust muff heating system for serviceability
P17-6 Instrumentation
- Function test a NAV/COM system
- Function test an autopilot system
- Inspect and test a fire detection system
- Function test inverter system
P17-7 Oxygen Systems
- Service an aircraft oxygen system
- Inspect and test an aircraft oxygen system

 

Learning Outcomes:
- Complete an inspection of a gas heater and test its operation.
- Test the function of a pitot-static system, a wing de-icing system, and a compass and repair as necessary.

 

Grading System:  Percentage

 

Passing Grade:  70%

 

Percentage of Group Work:  100
