AMET 102

This module covers aircraft drawings and blueprint reading and distribution and control of aircraft parts.

Prerequisite: Admission in to the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Program.
Course Content:

T2-1 Aircraft Drawings:

  • Identify drawings
  • Create technical drawings, using accepted drafting techniques
  • Interpret information presented in technical drawings
T2-2 Hardware Part 1
  • Explain "standards" and "specifications" as used in the aerospace industry
  • Describe threaded fasteners
  • Install/remove non-threaded fasteners
T2-3 Hardware Part 2
  • Review "standards" and "specifications" as used in the aerospace industry
  • Describe fluid line fittings
  • Describe cable fittings
  • Describe special fasteners
T2-4 Stores:
  • Identify documentation of aeronautical products
  • Identification of aeronautical products
  • Identify certification for log books, conformity, certificates, and maintenance release tags
  • Describe a boded inventory storage facility
  • Locate various authorized vendors/distributors of aeronautical products
  • Identify airworthiness directives and service bulletins applicable to the various parts stocked in a bonded storage facility
Learning Outcomes:
  • Apply the basics of drafting to interpret blueprints and convey information through drawings.
  • Correctly identify aircraft related parts and comply with appropriate inventory and history tracking systems.
Grading System:  Percentage

Passing Grade:  70%
