AMET 105 - Tools for Aircraft Maintenance

This module covers the tools that will be used in the maintenance of aircraft and support equipment.

Hours: 32 (Lecture Hours: 32)

 

Total Weeks:  15

 

Prerequisite:

Admission in to the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Program.

Course Content:
T5-1 – Hand Tools
- Demonstrate adherence to air regulations and safety procedures
- Demonstrate the proper use of cutting tools used in the repair and maintenance of aircraft
- Demonstrate the proper selection and use of mechanical and electrical assembly tools
- Demonstrate the proper use of sheet metal tools
- Demonstrate the proper use of the measurement and layout group of tools
T5-2 – Machine Tools
- Demonstrate adherence to air regulations and safety procedures
- Demonstrate the proper use of power and abrasive tools
T5-3 – Precision Instruments
- Use and care for micrometers
- Use and care of bore & dial gauges & protractors
- Explain the use of miscellaneous instrument


Learning Outcomes:

- The student will select the proper tool for the job and use it appropriately to complete the task.
- The student will ensure the tool is functioning properly, calibrated as required and repaired when necessary.

 

Grading System: Percentage

 

Passing Grade: 70 %

 

Percentage of Individual Work: 100
