OVERARCHING LEARNING OUTCOME:
The intention of this course is to prepare students to communicate effectively in writing. A student who successfully completes this course will be able to:
- Use his/her personal knowledge of the elements of effective written communication to communicate clearly with adults and children
- Apply his/her knowledge of observation/assessment techniques to daily situations in the workplace
SPECIFIC LEARNING OUTCOMES:
A student who successfully completes this course will have demonstrated the ability to:
- Organize and write concise, effective documents and research essays/reports
- Research and document information for a variety of audiences and purposes
- Use grammar and other writing conventions appropriately
- Use a variety of observation/assessment tools in an objective manner
- Make appropriate choices for use and implementation of observation/assessment tools
- Summarize, analyze and evaluate data in a useful and appropriate manner
