This two-day course is designed to enhance the skills of management, supervisors, safety professionals and those responsible for the development and/or implementation of safety programs. This training course emphasizes the value of the six program elements found in a basic safety program and concentrates on the development and implementation of the Canadian Petroleum Safety Council (CPSC) Basic Safety Program.

Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of the program, the candidate will be able to carry out and complete the steps to develop and implement company safety programs in preparation for a successful audit. Students will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the six program elements by passing the course written exam. This course is required for the Health and Safety Certificate of Recognition Program (currently available in AB and BC) and the Small Employer Certificate of Recognition (SECOR) Program for employers with ten or fewer employees. The completion of this program is the first step in the development of a safety program leading to the issuance of a Certificate of Recognition (COR) or Small Employer Certificate of Recognition (SECOR).
