Participants are expected to
- Identify a proper pre-trip inspection
- Identify the limited visibility of haul truck operation, due to severe blind-spots caused by the size and form of the vehicle
- Identify the correct rules of haul road driving
- Identify examples of correct brake and gear selection, and the risks associated with improper selection
- Identify proper use and approaches to the fuel and lube bays
- Identify proper procedures for drive by and back in dumping, and dumping at a dump pocket
- Identify correct loading methods, and techniques for efficient cab-side and blind-side back up
- Identify proper driving techniques to preserve tires
