This course provides students with the opportunity to apply basic skills of haul truck operating in a risk-free environment. This simulator program orients students to the different controls of a haul truck, and to the several tasks a haul truck operator is expected to perform.

Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, learners will be able to use the simulator to:
- Navigate a haul road
- Navigate a corridor
- Dump a load at a dump site and dump pocket
- Execute cab-side and blind-side loading
- Execute a complete haul cycle
- Demonstrate respectful use of the simulator and equipment.

Additional Comments:
Each task must be completed efficiently and without error at least three times with trial variations for the student to pass the task. Students receive a report of operating performance at the end of each trial, and an evaluation of each task after completing three trials. Completing the tasks more than once allows a student to improve time or efficiency ratings on particular tasks. If applicable, these evaluations are provided to the work experience sponsor for training purposes.
Students must successfully complete 75% of simulator tasks to pass this course.
