Information and Communication Technology(ICT) - Certificate

This Program is offered at the following campus locations: Online

Description:

The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Certificate program is a collaboration between Northern Lights College, Northwest Community College, College of New Caledonia, and Yukon College. By taking a combination of distance delivery and face-to-face courses from the partnering institutions, students can complete the program on either a full time or part-time basis. This one year certificate transfers fully into the ICT Diploma program.

The goal of the ICT program is to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to understand the theoretical and applied uses of information technology in various business applications. After one year, students will have detailed knowledge of several PC applications and operating systems. They will be able to install, configure and troubleshoot software in both stand-alone and networked environments. Students will also be exposed to various programming, scripting and mark up languages. Students will also acquire an understanding of IT in a business environment, as well as develop customer service skills. Currently we emphasize training in Microsoft® software products.

In order to graduate with a certificate, a student must have successfully completed 30 credits in the certificate program.
