Time Management
  • Keep track of your activities for one week. By keeping a running diary of your daily activities, you will find where your time is being spent, and you may be surprised.
  • From your list of weekly activities, make a schedule for the whole semester and record it in your student calendar. Include your scheduled class time, meetings, sleeping, organized recreation, television viewing, and other activities that occur at a fixed time.
  • The spaces that are left blank are for use as you see fit, either as organized study time or as free time.
  • Make a "Things to do this Week" list and list the items in order of priority:
    • must be done today
    • can be put off until later
    • may never get done
  • Make a "Things to do Today" list and priorize the items:
    • must be done today
    • can be put off until later
    • may never get done
  • By following these basic steps to time management, you will find that doing homework becomes easier, that conflict and indecision as to what to work on will be resolved more quickly, and that you will have more guilt-free non-study time to enjoy.
