Plumber Apprenticeship


Location(s): ​Dawson Creek

This program prepares students to learn all four levels of technical training within the Plumbing Industry. It focuses on trade-specific topics per the BC Plumbing Code, enabling students to carry out various skills in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Students graduating from this program will receive credit for all levels of apprenticeship technical training and eligibility to write the exam for the Interprovincial Standards (Red Seal) program in the trade.

Career Prospects

Plumbers can be employed by construction companies, plumbing contractors and maintenance departments, or they may be self-employed.

Length

Level 1 is 210 hours; approximately 7 weeks long.

Level 2 is 180 hours; approximately 7 weeks long.

Level 3 is 180 hours; approximately 7 weeks long.

Level 4 is 240 hours; approximately 8 weeks long.

Important Notes

  1. The program is not eligible for Canada Student Loans.
  2. Students must provide personal protective equipment (safety wear, steel-toed boots, gloves, coveralls, etc.).  Students are required to have a computer (laptop or other mobile device) with minimum computer requirements.
  3. The program is affiliated with SkilledTradesBC.

Residency Requirement100% of each level must be completed at Northern Lights College or by approval of the Dean
Minimum Grade Requirements70% minimum in all courses
