Mission Statement

Northern Lights College Foundation is an organization dedicated to helping our students embark on their lifelong journey of learning. We create and build relationships with our donors that in turn create unique opportunities for our students, college, and community.

Foundation Objectives

Formed in 1981, the Northern Lights College Foundation has these objectives:

  1. to foster community interest in promoting higher education and training
  2. to act as a recipient of trust funds in the form of monies or other properties
  3. to assist in community projects and promotion of higher education and to grant monies to Northern Lights College for the designated use of scholarships and bursaries to be awarded to students.

Donation Opportunities

There are several ways by which individuals, organizations and businesses can donate to students and to the College through the Foundation. All donations receive a receipt for income tax purposes.

Financial Donations

One Time Award

You may wish to make a contribution to be awarded on a one-time only basis.

Annual Award
You may wish to make a contribution on an annual basis in support of a particular interest at the college.

Endowment Development

You may wish to make a gift of a capital amount to either establish or support an endowment, the interest from which is used to provide an annual award.

Gifts-in-Kind

You may wish to contribute equipment, materials and services to any program of the college. As well, students appreciate assistance in acquiring items which complement their vocational pursuits.

Donor Recognition

The Northern Lights College Foundation values donations that promote the success of students and the College. All donations are gratefully acknowledged.

Assets

The Northern Lights College Foundation distributes over $300,000 in awards and program support annually. As of March 31, 2020, the Foundation's assets and endowment funds totaled over $4 million.

Directors and Administrators

There is a minimum of 7, and maximum of 13 Directors of the Foundation. The College provides administrative support to the Foundation, thereby ensuring the full amount of all donations goes directly to the purpose designated by the donor.
