Northern Lights College offers intakes for each semester, September, January, and May. We recommend applicants submit a complete application six months prior to their intended start date. Please note that start dates vary by program.
Step 1
Review the specific requirements for your program of study. Each program has its own prerequisites and English language requirements.
Step 2
Request an application form. Complete the form, and submit it with copies of transcripts, English language test results, and a copy of the photo page of your passport. Once NLC has received a completed application, you will receive instructions on payment of the $100 CAD application fee.
Step 3
If your application meets our admissions criteria and there is sufficient space in our programs, you will receive an Letter of Offer. To confirm your spot at NLC, and to receive a Letter of Acceptance for your study permit application, you must pay a deposit of $6,000. Applicants planning to apply for a study permit through the Student Direct Stream (SDS) may make a larger deposit, as needed. NLC will provide applicants with instructions on payment of their deposit.
Step 4
NLC will send you a Letter of Acceptance once we receive the tuition deposit payment, as well as a Welcome Guide to help you prepare for your arrival at NLC
What happens next?
After you receive your Letter of Acceptance, you will need to complete your study permit application with the Government of Canada.
The Government of Canada provides more information about study permits and how to apply through the traditional stream or the Student Direct Stream.
