New Vice-President joins Northern Lights College Leadership Team

Susan Hunter, a native of Ontario, has joined the College’s senior leadership team in the Vice Presidential role.  Hunter previously served as Director of Marketing and Communications at Sault College for nearly a decade.  During her time with Sault College, a new logo was unveiled as the organization was rebranded and grew in enrolment by 32%.  Hunter worked to develop and sustain corporate and community level partnerships to support campus development.  She was also a corporate trainer with Sault’s industry partner, Tenaris University, and led the $4 million Study North project with six northern Ontario colleges.

Hunter’s educational background includes graduate work at the University of Toronto on First Nations empowerment and a published masters thesis with Academica Press on the topic.  Her undergraduate schooling includes two degrees from Western University in French Language and Literature, as well as Education.  She has lived in countries around the world, including France and Japan, and relocated to Ontario from the U.S., where she worked for a large corporate fortune 500 company with headquarters based in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Susan served on the Art Gallery of Algoma board as President and was a Director with the Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce board.  She volunteered her time on various community initiatives including the Sault’s Local Immigration Partnership, Destiny’s Community Attraction and Promotion Strategy and True Growth approaches, Toastmasters International, the Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre’s Ignite Sault, as well as other entrepreneurial, non-profit, and leadership-related events.

I look forward to being a part of this success.”
