AUTD 160 - Practicum

Students will be placed in an 80 hour practicum. Efforts will be made to provide placements in line with student preferences, and employers will be requested to provide a variety of tasks in line with the student's learning objectives. If a practicum placement with an actual employer cannot be offered, students will complete their practicum in the shop under the supervision of their instructor.

Course Content:
Students will be placed in an industry setting for a period of 80 hours under the supervision of a certified Journey Person.  In this time, the student will exposed to the terminology of the trade and become involved with the routine and duties performed by an Automotive Service Technician.  Employers will complete a College generated evaluation of the student's performance determining if the student has passed or failed.
