The Worksafe BC WHMIS course introduces all aspects of the Work Hazardous Material Information System as required by federal and provincial legislation. Supplier, employer, and employee responsibilities are clearly defined. Specific workplace examples are explored.

Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of the course, the learner will be able to:
Explain and comply with WHMIS regulatory requirements
Explain the importance and requirement of WHMIS education and training
Explain the classification system and use it to identify hazards
List the different types of labels and describe the main components of each
Use labels to identify hazards and follow safe work procedures
Describe the main components of an MSDS and use it to obtain information and develop safe work procedures
Identify the key elements of a WHMIS program and implement the program

 

Grading System:
Pass/Fail

 

Passing Grade:
Pass (70%)
