The FoodSafe Regional Council of Northern Health Authority FoodSafe level 1 course is designed to train all persons involved in the handling and preparation of food.

Receiving and Storing Food
Preparing Food
Serving Food
Cleaning

Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of the course the learner will be able to:
Describe the benefits of the FoodSafe program
Describe the benefits to workers, employers and customers
Identify the top ten improper food handling practices causing foodborne illness
Identify the top six job hazards and risks to workers
Explain why it is important for food handlers to learn and follow safe food handling procedures
Describe the responsibilities of all staff in ensuring food safety and worker safety
Describe the importance of a Food Safety Plan  

 

Grading System:
Pass/Fail  

 

Passing Grade:
Pass (70%)
