JEDT 022 - Horticulture Assistant

The Horticulture Assistant course equips students with the knowledge and skills to cultivate plants including fruits and vegetables for personal use in various Community Gardens.

Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of the course, the learner will be able to:
- Demonstrate the knowledge of fruit and vegetable names
- Demonstrate the proper use of garden tools and equipment
- Prepare garden plot for planting
- Plant various fruit and vegetables
- Demonstrate weeding techniques
- Demonstrate watering techniques
- Extract fruit and vegetables

- Prepare fruit and vegetable for personal use, resale or donation to community organizations


Grading System: Pass/Fail


Passing Grade: Pass (50%)


Percentage of Individual Work: 10


Percentage of Group Work: 90
