Anybody born after 2004, who has not yet turned 21 may be eligible for up to $2000.
The Canada Learning Bond (CLB) is money that the Government of Canada adds to a Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP) to help pay the costs of your full or part-time studies after high school. If you meet the eligibility requirements you will receive an initial deposit of $500 into your RESP, plus an additional $100 for every subsequent year you were eligible, up to the age of 15. This money can help cover the costs of your tuition, books, tools, transportation, and housing.
The CLB is for eligible residents of Canada only. If you would like to apply for CLB and confirm eligibility, an RESP must be opened in the name of the applicant to receiving the funds.
