# COMD102 Community Development II

Community Development II builds on foundational knowledge to support the applied analysis and practice of community development. Students use theory, data, and community-based knowledge to examine real-world issues, assess community strengths and needs, and identify priorities for action. The course emphasizes inclusive and ethical engagement, with opportunities to facilitate dialogue and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. Learners apply Indigenous and decolonial perspectives, and consider the roles of governments, non-profits, and community organizations in shaping development processes. Through the design and implementation of a small-scale community initiative, students develop skills in planning, decision-making, and introductory evaluation. This course prepares students for advanced project work and integrative practice in the program’s capstone experience.
