# COMD211 Indigenous Community Development

This course explores Indigenous community development through the interconnected lenses of law, land, governance, and self-determination in Canada. With particular attention to Treaty 8 and local First Nations contexts, students examine how historical and contemporary legal frameworks shape Indigenous governance, land stewardship, and community futures. The course emphasizes Indigenous approaches to economic development, community well-being, and leadership, situating these within broader processes of self-government and community healing.
