Indigenous Services

Northern Lights College has Indigenous Gathering spaces on the Chetwynd, Dawson Creek, Fort Nelson, and Fort St. John campuses. These gathering spaces provide a place for our Indigenous students, staff and Elders to socialize, hold special events, and receive advocacy and support.

Our Indigenous Student Navigators are here to help Indigenous students manage their way through their education here at NLC, with advice about NLC admissions and programs.

Services to Indigenous students include:

  • support for program preparation and successful completion
  • assistance with, and information about financial aid
  • advocacy for Indigenous student issues
  • referrals to community agencies for personal support
  • specialized services to Treaty, Status, Inuit, Metis, and non-status students

We can work with you in promoting your personal and professional success as you journey through your post-secondary education here. Computers and internet access are also available for student use.
