Dawson Creek, Fort St John. All courses are delivered via video-conference. The laboratory component of some courses are delivered in Dawson Creek, therefore students must travel to the Dawson Creek campus

Regular intakes are based on the Dawson Creek Campus. Some distance delivery is typically available to students on the Fort St. John Campus, but travel to Dawson Creek on designated days is a requirement.

Approximately 31–34 weeks/745 hours

September intakes: September through May.

Fort St. John campus with the possibility of additional video-conference sites and some online delivery. Sponsored offerings at other locations may be available upon request.

Normally, 8 months (32 weeks) for full-time study. Part-time study may be an option. Length of program may vary for sponsored intakes.

Online: courses are primarily completed through asynchronous online study with some synchronous web-conferencing. Delivery optimizes flexibility for learners with employment and family obligations.

545 hours: approximately 28 weeks or 7 months of full-time study; part-time study over a longer period of time is also an option.

Continuous intake September through February. Intakes for this program begin in September 2022.

When enrolled in this program, you will take all general studies and prerequisite courses for admission to UNBC in your first two years (four semesters) of full-time study at Northern Lights College. In year three, you will transfer to UNBC in Fort St. John to complete your Bachelor of Science in Nursing in two years (five consecutive semesters).

Classroom and Laboratory contact hours are scheduled in the Health Sciences Building in Dawson Creek. As noted above, clinical learning experiences may occur in a variety of settings, including Dawson Creek, Fort St. John, Chetwynd, and perhaps Fort Nelson. Efforts will be made to place students in convenient clinical locations, but all students should be prepared for in-region travel. Transportation, meals, and accommodation are the responsibility of the student. After a clinical or preceptorship site is assigned by the Program Chair and instructor, no changes are permitted.

The Pre-Medicine Certificate involves 450 hours of class time and may be completed on a part-time or full- time basis. Where learners are attending full time, the credential may be completed in 30 weeks.

Dawson Creek and Fort St. John campuses. The SSWD program can be available at remote campuses through a combination of online and videoconference course delivery methods. Arrangements can be made practicum placements at remote locations.

60 weeks (four terms) of full-time study comprising 1055 hours. Part-time study is an option. However, all key SSWD courses must be completed within six years of program admission.

Depending on capacity, program intakes may occur in May and/or September. Note: January intake is for domestic students only.
