Students benefit from NLC Foundation Entrance awards

John CoffeyDAWSON CREEK – Three students at the Dawson Creek Campus of Northern Lights College were the recipients of NLC Foundation Entrance awards.

John Coffey (Wind Turbine Maintenance Technician), Betinna Melling (Camp Cook), and Shaya Giesbrecht (Esthetics and Nail Care Technology) were presented with their awards recently by Financial Aid Officer Billie-Jo Crandall.

NLC Foundation Entrance awards were created by the NLC Foundation Board and are presented to students after they have registered and attended their first week of classes at NLC. A total of 15 awards, each valued at $1,000, are distributed annually.

The awards are open to any student enrolling at NLC for the first time in full-time studies in any College program. Dual Credit students are eligible if they are enrolling in a program other than their Dual Credit program. Each applicant must submit a brief description of his/her planned program and future career goals.
