Students receive NLC Foundation awards

Randi HenschelDAWSON CREEK – Eleven Northern Lights College students were recent recipients of significant cash awards from the NLC Foundation.

Nine students received an NLC Foundation Entrance Award valued at $1,000. They are Christine Dahr, Randi Henschel, Alysha Hillary, Raelyn Kerbrat, Emma McTavish, Cassie Mulvahill, Jordan Steinke, Tristan Storms, and Carolyn White.

The NLC Foundation Entrance Award is open to students attending Northern Lights College for the first time. Applicants write an essay describing why they hope to attend NLC and their future career goals.

Two students received the NLC Foundation Award of Excellence, valued at $3,000 each. They are Ashleigh Grant and Leah Black.

The Award of Excellence is presented to a student who demonstrates academic achievement as well as community involvement and leadership skills.
