Dawson Creek Hospital Auxiliary gives to NLC students

The Dawson Creek Hospital Auxiliary has been very generous to NLC in recent weeks.

Most recently, the Auxiliary donated $1,000 to the NLC Foundation’s Giving Day campaign.

They requested the funds be used for $10 food vouchers for the Dawson Creek cafeteria. The vouchers will be available for students through the financial aid office.

The purpose of the Giving Day campaign is to raise money that will be used for student well-being. Being able to have a hot lunch can make a huge difference in a student’s day.

That’s not the only way they have been generous; three NLC nursing students recently received $1,000 bursaries from the Auxiliary.

Kayla Jensen, Tristan Lefebvre, and Andrea Huber were the recipients of the Dawson Creek Hospital Auxiliary Award through the NLC Foundation.

Auxiliary members Fern Hansen, Donna Alexander, and Judy Lowcay stopped by the NLC nursing lab to meet the students and chat about the program.

With the nursing shortage, it’s more important than ever to have nurses trained locally, says the Auxiliary. The award was created to help promote the program and keep those graduates working in the region.

A huge thank you to the Dawson Creek Hospital Auxiliary for their continued support!
