Future skills funding back for another year with NLC Workforce Training and Continuing Education

Northern Lights College (NLC) supports BC residents in furthering their education through funded future skills grant courses.

The Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills has announced this year’s round of funding for the future skills grant, which provides every BC resident with up to $3,500 for short-term skills training. NLC Workforce Training and Continuing Education has developed 14 programs that provide learners with the opportunity to upgrade their skill set.                                                      

“The StrongerBC future skills grant is a powerful tool in advancing the goals we share with the government in creating equitable access to education and training, responding to labour market needs and supporting lifelong learning”, said Chante Patterson-Elden, Dean of Workforce Training and Continuing Education at NLC. “Further, this initiative strengthens our ability to deliver innovative programming that supports students’ success, expands access for all learners, and builds a resilient workforce.”

The following programs are eligible for future skills grant funding:

Medical Terminology Series
Veterinary Assistant Series
EcoSystem Monitoring
AutoCad Basics
Airport Management-Airport Manager
Airport Management-Airside Application
Airport Management-Airside Maintainer
Airport Safety Management Series- Airport and Airline Employees
Airport Safety Management Series- Airport and Airline Management
Accounting with MS Excel 2019 Suite
Emerging Leader Foundation
Management Skills for Supervisors
Project Management Bootcamp
Digital Marketing

Please note: We encourage early registration for future skills grant courses. Course registration will close when funding maximums have been reached.
