Northern Lights College welcomed a group of ladies in Red Hats to Dawson Creek campus last week.

The Red Hat Society of Dawson Creek was invited to a formal luncheon on the Dawson Creek campus on May 30. It was prepared by culinary students from Fort Nelson First Nation, who were in Dawson Creek for three weeks to do their testing to pass their Level 1 requirements. Students prepared a formal three-course meal with soup, an entrée, and dessert.

The Red Hat Ladies also presented the Northern Lights College Foundation with $450 to go towards the Cook Training Bursary.  It was started in 1996 and provided by the cook training program to support students in the Professional Cook 1 or 2 program and this award goes to the best overall student who has financial need and is instructor nominated.
