REGISTRATION FOR THE FEBRUARY 2026 INTAKE WILL OPEN FALL 2025.
Field Operations Specialist-Hydrocarbon Resources (FOS-HR) provides new and potential employees training in oil & gas field operations through 12 custom training modules.
Training is delivered in the classroom, in a lab and through work experience. The program is 14 weeks of theoretical and lab practical activities, and a 3 week field practicum.

Recommended High School Courses:
- Math 10
- English 10
Before classes begin, students are required to provide proof of the following certifications:
- WHMIS
- Intermediate First Aid (2 day course)
- H2S Alive
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods
- Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
All certifications must be valid for the term of the program. Failure to provide proof may result in immediate dismissal from the program.
Additional Requirements & Supplies:
- Footwear with CSA safety-toe protection
- Cold weather Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Fire Resistant Clothing (FRC)
- CSA Safety Glasses with clear lenses
