ELFT150 Electrician Practicum

(60 contact hours)

Students will be placed in a 60-hour unpaid practicum. During this time, students will be exposed to worksite terminology and become involved with the daily routine and duties performed by an Electrician. Practicum placements will be arranged only upon recommendation of the instructor, and efforts will be made to provide placements in line with student preferences. Sponsors will be asked to provide a variety of tasks in line with learning objectives. If a practicum placement cannot be offered, students will complete their practicum in the shop under the supervision of their instructor. Upon completion of their practicum, learners are required to provide a written report to their instructor detailing their experience.

Prerequisites: Students must be enrolled in the Electrician Foundation Trades Training Program. One month prior to the start of the program, students will be required to provide proof of the following*: -Intermediate First Aid -H2S Alive -Common Safety Orientation (CSO) * All certificates must be valid for the duration of the course. Failure to provide proof may result in suspension or removal from this course and subsequently an inability to complete all requirements for successful program completion.

Restrictions: Must be in the Electrician Foundation Trades Training Program (ELFT1).
