STEA100 Steamfitter/Pipefitter Level 1

This course follows the harmonized curriculum for Level 1 Steamfitter/Pipefitter as outlined by Skilled Trades BC. Students are introduced to the foundational knowledge, skills and safe-work practices required to enter the Steamfitter/Pipefitter trade. The course covers the basic tools, equipment, materials, and trade terminology associated with steamfitting and pipefitting. Students will complete layout, installation, and fabrication of piping systems. Emphasis is placed on safety, communication, mathematics-science applications, interpreting drawings and specifications, and shop/lab work to build hands-on competence.

Prerequisites: Eligibility as indicated by Skilled Trades BC

Restrictions: Must be in the Steamfitter/Pipefitter Apprenticeship Program
