Aircraft maintenance technician students awarded memorial prizes

On , In College News

The Northern Lights College Foundation presented two memorial awards to Aircraft Maintenance Technician students on October 28, 2021 during an event held in the aerospace hanger on the Dawson Creek Campus.

Vitto Paolo Sacreno received the Erich W. Lehmann Memorial award, and Justin Flynn is this year’s recipient of the Duane Sunderman Memorial award.

“I am really honoured, I’m overwhelmed, I’m surprised because I wasn’t expecting it.” said Vitto. “I’m really happy.”

Like Vitto, Justin was also surprised to learn he was receiving an award. He said receiving this is a big relief as money is incredibly tight, and it’s a huge help right now.

Lindsey Borek, Executive Director of the Foundation, said the organization prides itself with the work it does with the staff of Northern Lights College, and its donors, to help students during their education.

“Once again we are so proud to present these instructor-nominated awards with, and on behalf of our generous donors, to these two deserving students” she said.
