Celebrating our top students at Skills Canada

On February 16, students from all over the region assembled at the NLC Dawson Creek campus to compete in the 2024 Skills Canada Regional competition. The competitors were divided into three categories. The Jr. Skills were comprised of students from the regional elementary and middle schools, and the other categories were high school students, and post-secondary students. Try-a-Trade® was hosted at the same time and offered participants a chance to get into trades classrooms and get some hands-on trades experiences.

The competitions were timed and then their creations judged by local experts in each field.

The gold winners will move onto the provincial skills competition in Abbotsford this April, and if they win, they’ll have the opportunity to compete in the national competition in Quebec City in May!
