July 19 and 20 marked a tee-rific weekend for the Northern Lights College Foundation at the 27th Annual Brown’s Charity Scramble Golf Tournament, held at the Dawson Creek Golf and Country Club.

Back for a second year, the Foundation was thrilled to once again take part in this high-energy community fundraiser. With the help of generous participants and sponsors, the Foundation raised an impressive $8,915 through a combination of activities including the always popular Ball Drop and the Pick-A-Tee game.

The success of the Pick-A-Tee game was made possible thanks to the generous support of local businesses who donated prizes:

  • Griffins Source for Sports
  • The Hair Lounge
  • Lawrence Meat Packing Co. Ltd – The Butcher Block
  • Corlane Sporting Goods
  • True North Fitness
  • Fitness 4 Life
  • Beardless Barber
  • Mayoh’s Custom Woodworking

On-site to support the event were Foundation Board Chair Lisa Ward, Executive Director Lindsey Borek, Development Officer Kayla Von Bargen, and Projects & Partnerships Facilitator Sierra Shields. Their presence helped shine a spotlight on the Foundation’s mission and the importance of community partnerships.

“We had a fantastic time connecting with the community and are incredibly grateful to the Browns Charity Scramble and all the local businesses who made this event possible,” said Kayla Von Bargen. “Events like this not only raise funds but also raise awareness about the work we do at the Foundation.”

The NLC Foundation looks forward to continuing this tradition and building even stronger ties with the community in the years to come.
