Airside Application provides an in-depth look at how airports are designed and built to meet the regulatory requirements for certification. You will learn to apply the airport standards and best practices outlined in Transport Canada’s TP312E (5th Edition) — the key reference document that defines how certified airports in Canada must be planned, constructed, and maintained for safe operations.
Through practical examples and applied learning, you will explore how these standards support safe and efficient airport design and ongoing compliance. Topics include airfield layout, obstacle limitation surfaces, and the importance of maintaining clear flight paths free from obstructions such as buildings, towers, wind farms, and trees.
By the end of the course, you will understand how to apply these standards when planning, expanding, or upgrading airport facilities to ensure continued certification and operational safety.
Airside Application is for anyone interested in pursuing a career from airport maintenance to the management level including Airport Ground Workers, Airport Supervisors, Airport Safety Inspectors
