This one-day course introduces participants to the safe handling, use, and maintenance of chainsaws. Students will learn how to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and understand the common causes of chainsaw-related accidents and how to prevent them. The course covers key safety practices for slashing, bucking, and felling trees, with a focus on safety awareness and proper techniques. Upon successful completion, participants will receive certification in felling trees between 6 to 10 inches in diameter at stump height. This course has both theory and a practical skills component. There is both a written and hands on practical test for the certification.
