This drone training series prepares students for Search and Rescue (SAR) operations using Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS). It begins with foundational knowledge of drone capabilities, safety, and teamwork in SAR environments, then progresses to advanced training aligned with Transport Canada regulations, including flight theory, navigation, weather, and operational procedures required for pilot certification. Students will develop practical skills in mission planning, aerial reconnaissance, and daytime visual line-of-sight (VLOS) operations, while learning to integrate drone programs into incident command systems. The program also covers data management, mapping, communication, and real-world SAR applications, equipping participants to safely and effectively support emergency response efforts.
