Join the Northern Lights College Rodeo Team

Northern Lights College (NLC) offers student-athletes a unique opportunity to compete in the demanding world of rodeo while pursuing their education. Join our team and represent NLC as a competing member in the Canadian Collegiate Rodeo Circuit.

Our Training and Coaching Model

We offer a comprehensive and well rounded training program for athletes across a variety of rodeo events. The program is designed to ensure that athletes get a solid mix of technical and competitive experience.

Practice Facilities

NLC provides access to premier facilities for all team members:

  • Lakota Agriplex: Indoor arena for weekly practices in Dawson Creek
  • NLC Farm: On-site outdoor riding area

  • Rough Stock (Bareback, Saddle Bronc, Bull Riding)

CCRA Competition Eligibility

The NLC Rodeo Team competes within the Canadian Collegiate Rodeo Association (CCRA). To remain eligible for competition, student-athletes must meet the following academic standards:

  • Be registered in a minimum of three courses.
  • Maintain an academic GPA of 2.0.
  • Trades and Apprenticeship students are welcome to join and compete.
Housing

A truly unique feature of the NLC Rodeo Team is the opportunity to live on the NLC farm (for students 19 years of age or older), allowing you to live along with your horse.
